SR 70 from the Okeechobee County Line to MP 5.871

This $19 million project involves the reconstruction of six miles of S.R. 70 to a four-lane divided roadway. The scope of the project includes extensive earthwork (1.5 million cubic yards), drainage, excavation of a SFWMD canal and installation of a fabric form canal lining. The scope also included CEI for a 12-foot wide, ADA compliant, asphalt path from the Turnpike to 4.3 miles west of Summerlin Road.

This project was awarded a “Davis Productivity Award”
by FDOT for the extensive cost savings that were realized.

CPC proposed eliminating the friction course from the common area between SR 70 segments 2 and 3 in order to save $125,000.
