Winter Springs Village
The first phase of this 202-acre mixed-use project in the new town center of the City of Winter Springs is completed, and the second phase is currently underway. This pedestrian friendly neighborhood is linked to the new town center and adjacent existing Seminole County Trail System.
The CPC team is providing Engineering Services and Construction Engineering Inspection services for all the site work improvements including an internal network of alleys, roadways, sidewalks, and a two-lane boulevard with parallel parking and a 6’ mulch trail which interfaces with the existing Seminole County Trail System. In addition, a new section of sidewalk will be installed along existing Tuskawilla Road.
The Winter Springs Village project utilized quality construction management techniques consisting of City staff and the independent Engineer of Record for all aspects of the project. The site contractor’s activities were closely monitored during frequent site visits and compared to the pay applications.
Public relations were an important aspect to the execution of this project. The community was sensitive to the fact that construction activities would be ongoing nearby. The city staff and project team worked diligently to address the neighbors’ concerns of maintaining their community’s integrity.
Environmental concerns throughout the project were also a priority. A tree preservation area was established as a natural vegetation buffer between existing neighborhoods and the proposed development.
CPC was responsible for the oversight of the infrastructure, planning and design of the stormwater management system. We were able to shorten the construction schedule by obtaining an early work permit from the city and the SJRWMD.
