West Commercial Streetscape Improvements
Government
The Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea’s Master Plan addresses the need to revitalize the business district on Commercial Boulevard west of State Road A1A. The project included improvements to four existing mixed-use blocks on Commercial Boulevard. Improvements to the existing drainage system were implemented under a joint agreement with FDOT and required roadway reconstruction.
CPC provided Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the West Commercial Boulevard project. The project starts on Commercial Boulevard from West Tradewinds Avenue, on the East side of the Causeway Bridge to East of El Mar Drive. The improvements for this project involved milling and resurfacing, new sidewalk construction, drainage and swale improvements for stormwater collection, lighting improvements as well as landscape installation, hardscape features, irrigation and performance turf. The purpose of these improvements is to help slow down traffic along the street, making the roadway more appealing and pedestrian friendly, so residents and visitors will shop and dine.
