Mystic Dunes Resort and Golf Club is a 600-acre mixed-use timeshare resort in Osceola County, Florida. It consists of 3,950 timeshare units, 186,000 square feet of commercial space, and an 18-hole golf course with a 225,000-square-foot golf clubhouse facility. Major project issues included stormwater management, utility service, irrigation planning and design, consumptive use, and transportation.
Mystic Dunes Ponds were inundated with rainfall generated by Hurricane Irma. CPC worked alongside our Client, Osceola County, and the South Florida Water Management District to engineer and permit a cost-effective solution to bring the stormwater pond into compliance with local and state regulations, reduce maintenance expenses, and maintain an aesthetic compatible with the current landscape. An outfall structure was designed for Pond 2, and an interconnecting pipe was sized to connect Pond 2 to a nearby stormwater pond with extra capacity.
