Industry Type:

The goal of this Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR) project is to extend pavement life and improve safety and accessibility. The project spans SR 5/US-1 from the Miami-Dade County Line to Pembroke Road, within the cities of Hallandale Beach and Hollywood. The project also includes coordination with local utilities and lighting enhancements. Improvements include ADA-compliant curb ramps, installing detectable warning surfaces, and repairing damaged sidewalks. New light poles that will be added will also be decorative. Existing decorative crosswalk pavers will be coordinated with the City of Hallandale Beach and replaced with decorative crosswalks.

The project will also address continuous bicycle lane connectivity between Hallandale Beach Blvd. and NE 3rd St. New advanced street name signs for SE 3rd St. will be provided along the southbound direction. Lighting LED lighting retrofit will be included at four signalized intersections along SR 5 (US 1) at 1) SE 3rd St./Seabiscuit Trail, 2) SR-858/Hallandale Beach Blvd., 3) NE 3rd St., 4) Atlantic Shores Blvd. Signalization and lighting impacted by the reconstruction of the sidewalk at pedestrian ramps will be replaced. At six signalized intersections located along SR 5 (US 1) at 1) SE 9th St./Via Da Fortuna, 2) SE 3rd St./Seabiscuit Trail, 3) SR-858/Hallandale Beach Blvd., 4) NE 3rd St., 5) Atlantic Shores Blvd., 6) SR-824/Pembroke Rd., sub-standard pedestrian signals will be upgraded to meet minimum standards. ADA criteria will include pedestrian head signals, countdown type, and push buttons.
