Carnahan, Proctor and Cross, Inc. (CPC) was proud to support the development of Universal’s Volcano Bay, a flagship water park at the Universal Orlando Resort. Opened in May 2017, Volcano Bay replaced Wet ‘n Wild as Universal’s dedicated water park and was the first constructed entirely in-house by Universal Parks & Resorts. The park features immersive theming centered around the 200-foot-tall Krakatau volcano, which serves as both the visual centerpiece and the heart of the park’s most thrilling attractions. As part of the development team, CPC provided comprehensive as-built survey services for the entire Volcano Bay site. Our deliverables have been instrumental in pervious and impervious surface studies, as well as in support of ongoing design-build adjustments and infrastructure modifications throughout the park. CPC’s surveyors produced multiple detailed 2D drawings showcasing topographic conditions and existing site features. These precise records have served as a critical resource for engineers and project managers, informing construction, drainage, and utility planning across various zones within the water park. Our work at Volcano Bay demonstrates CPC’s capability in managing large-scale, complex entertainment projects, while delivering accurate and actionable data that supports every phase of design and development. From initial construction through post-opening refinements, our as-built surveys continue to provide long-term value to Universal Orlando Resort.
