Winfield Park ADA Improvements

Civil Engineering & Surveying

CPC provided Survey, Civil Engineering Design & Construction Administration Services for the City of Margate Parks, Winfield Park, and Lemon Tree Lake Park in support of the City’s campaign to provide kayaking and canoeing recreational access to its residents, including its disabled residents. As part of a continuing engineering services contract with the City of Margate, CPC was tasked with preparing the surveys, civil engineering design & construction administration for the installation of Floating Docks and ADA sidewalk improvements with pedestrian-friendly park access at the city’s Winfield Park and Lemon Tree Park. The design included a dock support piling system, ADA compliant sidewalk access, additional parking area, pavement markings, and signage for on-street parking. CPC coordinated with a structural engineer and general contractor to confirm the design and weight support for the docks. For Lemon Tree Lake Park a traffic analysis was also completed to reduce the number of lanes along the access road to provide on-street parking. CPC supported the City as part of a Grant Application to fund the project. For Winfield Park, CPC was also tasked with improving the wayfinding signage for boat access to canals that run throughout the city and connect to multiple city parks. This led to the design of the Margate Blueway Trail Signage Map, which includes 12 physical signs posted at key points in city canals.
