City of Coral Springs Fire Station Emergency Signal Design for FD Station #80 on Coral Springs Drive and NW 28th Ct. and FD Station #71 located on Coral Ridge Drive and NW 41st Street in Coral Springs, FL. The Fire Department recognized the need to install Emergency Traffic Signalization to allow fire engines to safely access the roadway network, thereby reducing response times and serving their Community.
CPC completed a signal warrant analysis using the FDOT methodology to demonstrate that the emergency signals were warranted for both locations. CPC prepared signal design plans for two intersections along Coral Springs Dr. and Coral Ridge Dr. CPC completed the required survey and developed construction plans approved by the Broward County Traffic Engineering Division. The project involved the design of four mast arms per intersection. A unique aspect of the designs was the existence of existing power poles and lines located in the vicinity of the proposed mast arms, which were coordinated with the surveyor. The project also involves coordination with FP&L for power connection. Permitting through the Broward County Highway Division is part of this design effort. The project was completed on time according to the schedule.
