CPC is providing comprehensive engineering services for the structural condition survey and assessment of five bridges within the South Creek community. Those bridges were built in the 1940s and are narrow by today’s standards, so the city is planning to widen them as part of a broader bridge and street improvement project planned in the area. The project aimed to improve the structural integrity, safety, and functionality of these critical infrastructure components. The City identified a need to assess the condition of five aging bridges in the South Creek community. These bridges were experiencing deterioration due to age, exposure to the elements, and increased traffic loads. The city sought to ensure the long-term safety and reliability of these structures. The improvement project will come from Broward County’s penny sales tax, which is intended to improve transportation across the county. As part of the assessment of the bridges, divers will inspect the columns and piers as well as do sound checks to determine if the steel in the bridges is rusting and needs repairs.
