The Florida Department of Transportation/Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) undertakes a tremendous engineering effort to increase capacity, safety and quality along the Turnpike Corridor to accommodate local and seasonal traveling public. This effort is put forth to fulfill FTE’s motto: “The Less Stressway.” As part of this effort, the section of the Turnpike Mainline (SR-91) between MP 153.23 and MP 169.32, located in St. Lucie County, is being improved through milling, resurfacing and performing roadside improvements and safety upgrades. The ultimate purpose is to bring better service to the traveling public through addressing concerns caused by a consistently growing rate of users of this important corridor connecting the South and Central Florida areas.
