The City of Miramar received Federal funding via the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, and the City has selected CPC for Construction Engineering and Inspection Services for this project. Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a growing movement that has taken hold in communities throughout the United States. The concept is to increase the number of children who walk or bicycle to school by funding projects that remove the barriers currently preventing them from doing so. These barriers include a lack of infrastructure, unsafe or incontiguous infrastructure, and a lack of programs that promote walking and bicycling through education and encouragement programs aimed at children, parents, and the community.
