Grande Champion at LPGA
This mixed-use development of residential and commercial encompasses 2,000 acres with 4,000 residential units and over 100 acres of commercial use.
CPC was engaged by Kitson & Partners from due diligence to entitlements. CPC’s services included all Surveying, Platting, Civil Engineering, Planning and assisting with the Master Planning and Environmental services, which included extensive environmental and wetland permitting processes with USACOE, Florida Fish and Wildlife and SJRWMD.
Design included working with FPL on utilization of transmission permits, FDOT and the county on adjacent road- and traffic-related improvements and the City of Daytona Beach on both off-site and master site water, sewer and reuse facilities. Close attention had to be paid to the signature golf course (LPGA) facilities during both the design and construction phases. Additional services provided were the land planning and transportation planning of this development by working with the City of Daytona, Volusia County and FDOT.
Environmental concerns were extensive throughout the project. Bald eagle nesting habitat, wetlands, and pine flatwoods as well as the project’s close proximity and connection to the Tomoka River (classified as a Florida Outstanding River) made this project unique in its design and entitlement process. CPC worked tirelessly with the design team members to meet an aggressive time table.
