The Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project is a federally funded undertaking by the US Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District to replace the existing 110-foot by 600-foot navigation lock with a new lock of the same size. The new lock will be located on the Chattanooga River in Tennessee.

CPC is a subcontractor to The RLS Group on the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project. We are supporting the 3D laser scanning and deliverable portion of the project. Our initial phase is to scan the trench walls and tunnels to verify construction meets the design tolerances.

3D laser scanning is a non-contact, non-destructive technology that uses lasers to create digital 3D representations of physical objects. It is a highly accurate and efficient way to measure and document existing conditions. On the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project, we will use 3D laser scanning to create detailed 3D models of the trench walls and tunnels. These models will then be used to compare the actual construction to the design plans and specifications.
